DIY Copper Wire Chandelier: Material List and Full Tutorial

This handmade copper wire chandelier combines warm copper spirals, glass candle holders, beads, and sparkling chandelier prisms to create an elegant piece of hanging décor. It looks beautiful on a patio, near a window, or anywhere you want to add candlelight and a little extra sparkle.
In the full tutorial, I show you how to shape the copper wire, create the decorative spirals, assemble the chandelier frame, and add the hanging crystals.
Copper Wire Chandelier Materials
Here are the main materials used for this project:
10-gauge copper wire
16-gauge copper wire
Glass candle holders or small glass jars
Glass beads
Chandelier prisms or hanging crystals Shop Chandelier Prisms and Crystals
Additional wire for attaching beads and crystals, as needed
The different wire gauges give the chandelier its structure while still allowing you to create decorative curves and spirals.
Chandelier Prisms and Crystals
The hanging prisms are one of my favourite parts of this project. They reflect the light beautifully and add movement and sparkle beneath the chandelier.

You can use matching crystals for a more traditional chandelier look or combine different shapes and sizes for something more whimsical and handmade.
Tools Used for This Project
You will also need a few basic wire-working tools:
Round-nose pliers
Flat-nose pliers
Wire cutters or mini bolt cutters
Hammer
Steel bench block or another hard hammering surface
Ruler or measuring tape
A hammer and steel block help flatten and strengthen the copper wire while giving the finished chandelier a more polished, handcrafted appearance.

The complete video tutorial walks you through the project step by step, including shaping the individual wire sections, matching the spirals, securing the candle holders, and attaching the beads and crystals.
Take your time while shaping the wire and check the placement of each section before securing everything permanently. Handmade wirework does not need to be perfectly identical, but keeping the main sections balanced will help the chandelier hang evenly.
This copper wire chandelier can also be customized with different beads, crystals, candle-holder shapes, and copper finishes. Use the tutorial as your starting point, then make the final design your own.
